I can't restore my apple TV 3rd gen. When restored i have activation failed

Apple TV 2 Activation Failure I have an Apple TV 2 and have read a few threads and have tried most/all of the options: Reset, Restore, Unplugged all cables, reset modem, made sure iTunes payment option was valid. The iTunes app sees the Apple TV fine & the Apple TV configurator as well...although the latter stopped short of doing a full restore, and believe it's because the Apple TV 2 is not supported in the Configurator? At any rate, is there a remedy to get the Apple TV 2 past the "Activation failed" error?

Activation Failed - Apple TV 2nd Generation All was working fine until a software update yesterday. After the software update, my Airplay and my Screen Mirroring no longer work. I've never had this problem. I've restored, reset, unplugged, etc and it still says Activation Failed. Are the two related? This is incredibly frustrating.

Had the same problem and did the following with success (at last)!!!

Use/install apple configurator 2 on your IMac or MacBook.

connect to ATV micro usb.

Choose Apple TV3

Choose Profile

Choose Activate
