Picasa replacement needed

Picasa has tools for poster making, movie making/adding soundtrack, choice of font, design cards, sizing/placing of photos, and so much more. Which alternative has these features?

True replacement for iPhoto I need an application that works like iPhoto did. Imports the photos I need to work with, lets me click/hold/drag to crop (NOT click from 4 sides individually or make me hold a key on the keyboard to make the crop move from two corners), and has easy to see albums (NOT the jumbled mess that Photos has, where one album is gigantic, then some smaller ones, then some even smaller ones, and another gigantic one, etc.). Does Adobe Lightroom work similarly to iPhoto?? If I am ever forced to upgrade my computer(s), then I will have to find something that works. The Photos app just doesn't cut it for me - I have tried it multiple times and I do not like the way it functions (and I am sure that I am not alone in this). I am seeing that Adobe has gotten greedy and only wants to sell people subscriptions now - I just want Adobe Lightroom Classic (if it will work for me) for one purchase price up front. So, does anyone know of an application that will fit the bill?? Surely someone has something out there that will work.

Photos available for slideshow. I feel I've beaten this topic up but I'm still on a quest. I have always used Photos (iPhoto before it) as a slideshow for my computer. I have over 10,000 images in my library an until recently they have all been used for the show. recently I've found problems with the computer not utilizing the entire library. At one point I was in a chat with Apple Support and whomever was assisting me showed me how to get to a point that actually showed me the exact source for my pictures. It showed a much smaller library, approximately 3000 images. I cannot find that information to further understand things or try to determine my options. When I go to Preferences and select screensaver/desktop I am given options. However none of those options appear to offer the 10K quantity, only the 3K. There are also other choices, none of which are what I was using. Currently I show the source as "Photos". That tab offers me the option of "Choose Folder" or "Photo Library". Choosing "Choose Folder" offers me "Pictures" but that is only a 5 cell offering and is nothing more than several scans of the same document. Opting for "Photo Library" appears to give me the entire 10K library option, but once the scrolling starts I'm back to the limited selection.

Screen Saver no longer works on MacOS 11.4 MacOS 11.4 no longer allows "Source: PHOTOS" to be used on SCREEN SAVER, when KEN BURNS or CLASSIC method is chosen. I have tested it on iMac, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, so it is the MacOS that is "broken", not individual computers having lack of memory or some other issue(s). Why can't Apple go all-out to make Photos work super well for Screen Savers, including lots of features that used to work, but no longer work, in Screen Saver (like going BACK to a prior photo to see it, using the arrow keys)? Bolstering Apple's Screen Saver would GREATLY increase the sales of Apple computers used in kitchens and family rooms as a way to display ALL photos within someone's archives of pictures as a backdrop in those rooms. If Apple needs to hire a Manager to spearhead this effort, I am available.

Thank you. I am still using Picasa on my PC, and will look for an alternative program for MacBook Air that you suggested. Thanks for your help.
