Homepod mini setup

I found the problem. You have to have the "Home app" installed. Once I installed it, it went right through the setup, and completed. Works just fine now. I used this link https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208490

Thanks for confirming these details with us! When you open "Password and Security", does it also show that two-factor authentication is enabled? The reason we ask is that we do sometimes see iPhones that are using multiple Apple ID accounts, such as one account signed into iCloud and another signed into the App Store and iTunes Store. We just want to make sure there aren't multiple accounts that are conflicting with each other.

Try signing out of your Apple ID. restart the iPhone then sign back in

I am having the exact same problem as this user. I too am running the current ios, and am only using 1 apple id. Still have the same problem no matter what i do.
