How do I put my number instead of my iCloud for my messages and FaceTime on IPad Gen 9th?

In my iPad’s settings (I have an iPhone on the same Apple ID), under iMessage > Send and Receive, I get options on whether to send and receive messages on my iPad from my Apple ID and / or phone number. So you can just untick the Apple ID under the Send section, and it should start new conversations from your number now.
