If doing so, strongly suggest only moving the User Account and nothing more.
Light years have passed since Snow Leopard and Monterey.
Applications, drivers and extension in SL will for sure not work on Monterey as Monterey only supported 64 Bit Everything.
Factor in also, if the new machine is ARMs Apple Silicon - right there is enough of a reason to only migrate the USER Account Only.
Doing otherwise will probably if not for sure - pollute and otherwise pristine and virginal installation of Monterey.
Personal Data files can be moved over later.
Suggest installing new Applications from the Apple Apps Store or Directly from the Developer after preforming due diligence on the Applications for Monterey AND Apple Silicon Compatible.
