No power coming to my 1st generation Apple TV. Tried new plug still won’t turn on. I have small usb on back of Apple TV plugged into USB charger box for now to see if that fixes problem but if not maybe it’s kaput?
Lmao the first generation Apple TV has a full desktop Intel chip, some people even made YouTube videos on installing Mac OS X on it, you won’t be able to power it through a USB-A 2.0 port, definitely not. USB-A is not a power input port in almost every circumstance, it’s a host port. You need to use a proper power cable, not USB.
Although, if you are struggling to understand how to power it, I do question what uses you would even have for a first generation Apple TV, it is really obselete.
An Apple TV 1st generation is about 15 years old (they came out in 2007) so it may be time to simply replace it.
Are you sure it's a first generation Apple TV? Thew first gen Apple TV was a white and silver slab, which is no longer supported by Apple.
