My 1st generation Apple TV will not turn on. No power going through it. I used a different plug still won’t get any power. I can’t reset or anything because it simply won’t turn on.

No power coming to my 1st generation Apple TV. Tried new plug still won’t turn on. I have small usb on back of Apple TV plugged into USB charger box for now to see if that fixes problem but if not maybe it’s kaput?

Lmao the first generation Apple TV has a full desktop Intel chip, some people even made YouTube videos on installing Mac OS X on it, you won’t be able to power it through a USB-A 2.0 port, definitely not. USB-A is not a power input port in almost every circumstance, it’s a host port. You need to use a proper power cable, not USB.

Although, if you are struggling to understand how to power it, I do question what uses you would even have for a first generation Apple TV, it is really obselete.
