Hi I got a question about lighting to 3.5mm dongle.

I had just bought an iPhone 13 mini, and I bought a 3rd party lighting to 3.5mm dongle. When I plug in, it’s using Bluetooth to connect to my phone, and I when I use for YouTube, it had a lot of cracking sounds/ flickering. But when I tried the same setup at iPad mini 5, it works perfectly.

Attached photo is the pop up when I connect the dongle with the headset. It’s not Beats headset ya.

I had tried to reset the setting but problems persists. Anyway to overcome this issue?

Your post is a bit confusing. A Lightning to 3.5mm dongle would be a wired solution and have nothing to do with Bluetooth. It is an actual cable that lets you physically connect 3.5mm headphones to an iPhone through its charting port.

If you are using a Bluetooth dongle connected to your headphones, then it has nothing to do with Lightning at all. So your description is rather confusing.

If the dongle is appearing to the iPhone as a pair of Beats wireless headphones, then it's an issue with the dongle itself, and unless its an Apple branded dongle, there's not much help we can provide for it.

Can you at least provide the make and model of dongle you are using?

Just to me clear, when you plug in JUST the dongle the beats page comes up. Then what headphones are you plugging into the 3.5 plug? And can you post the Bluetooth screen? What is connecting via Bluetooth? Also could not read the name of the dongle, do you have a link? And is it mFi certified?

That’s even more confusing. That’s a wired dongle. It should not activate Bluetooth at all.

Are there perhaps a pair of Beats wireless headphones around that may be generating that connection?

Seems really strange that a wired dongle would use bluetooth. I just does not make any sense.

Is this dongle mFi certified. It should say on the box if it is?

I'm confused why are you plugging in Bluetooth headphones?

Ya I also felt intrigued. The dongle indeed initiates a Bluetooth connection once I plug in my 13 mini. There is no wireless headset on range too.

But I had clarified with Apple retailer, they said that the dongle should not using Bluetooth. I just bought a very cheap dongle to use (Made in China)

Understand, but used it on iPad it’s works perfectly fine. just iPhone cannot works as intended, that intrigues me.

Hi there, thanks for the explanation. I also confused with the third party dongle which pop up Beats icon once I plug in and use Bluetooth to connect. Here you go for the dongle photo.

Not sure as it’s third party dongle, yeah, when i plug in my lighting port it will pop up beats icon and I will need to select connect. Then it will connect using Bluetooth.

Hey it’s ok I guess I will get a new one.

Maybe because the dongle is very cheap (only usd 3) so it had a lot issues.

i will make sure the new one will no need Bluetooth to use.
