Mac Mail - Body of email not shown

Greetings.

Been having a problem as of late with the Mac Mail app on my desktop iMac.

Using Catalina 10.15.7

I cannot view message bodies, but can see the sender/subject/etc.

Just started happening all of a sudden.

If I "respond" or "forward" the email, then I can see the body of the message.

???

Thx

Robert

Please restart the computer in Safe Mode per the directions in the  How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support link.

Note: If you are using a wireless keyboard please either plug it in using the supplied Lightning cable that shipped with it. If you are using a legacy keyboard or a third-party keyboard that does not have re-charging abilities, please use any USB keyboard. Also note that a Safe Mode restart may require you to hold down the shift key for up to 5 minutes before the computer starts in Safe Mode. You will know it is in Safe Mode when you see “Safe Mode” in the upper right of the display.

Greetings.

Thx for response. In the interim, I restarted the iMac once and then did a complete shut down twice. No change until after the second complete shut down, when lo and behold the email message bodies showed up. I'm not convinced that the problem is necessarily solved, perhaps only temporarily. Will do the Safe Mode as well.

Thx for your help.
