ipad photos saved to icloud

I backed up my ipad to icloud. Does this also backup my photos? I'm preparing to transfer everything to a new iPad.

Hello, on you iPad if you go to Settings > 'Your Name" at the top > iCloud, you should be able to see everything that is backing up within iCloud. Things that are being backed up will either say On or Have a green button checked.
