Poor Performance - MacBook Air - Beach Ball - Excessive Fan Use

Friends - I have a 2020 MacBook Air that has slow performance. The beach ball runs constantly and the fan volume picks up at times. I ran Apple Diagnostics with no issues. Please help. Reference the attached Etre Check Report.

Malwarebytes is a good app and not detrimental to your system. It's one of the best protections you can have for adware and malware.

However, you've installed what most of the experienced contributors in these forums consider akin to malware: CleanMyMac.

Uninstall it according to the developer's instructions

Here's some additional food for thought:

There is no reason to ever install or run any 3rd party "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus, VPN or security apps on your Mac.  This user tip describes what you need to know and do in order to protect your Mac: Effective defenses against malware and other threats - Apple Community.

There are no known viruses, i.e. self propagating, for Macs.  There are, however, adware and malware which require the user to install although unwittingly most of the time thru sneaky links, etc.

Anti Virus developers try to group all types as viruses into their ad campaigns of fear.  They do a poor job of the detecting and isolating the adware and malware.  Since there are no viruses these apps use up a lot of system resources searching for what is non-existent and adversely affect system and app performance.

There is one app, Malwarebytes, which was developed by a long time contributor to these forums and a highly respected member of the computer security community, that is desshoigned solely to seek out adware and known malware and remove it.  The free version is more than adequate for most users.

Also, unless you're using a true VPN tunnel, such as between you and your employer, school or bank's servers, they are useless from a privacy standpoint.  Read these two articles: Public VPN's are anything but private and Former Malware Distributor Kape Technologies Now Owns ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, Private Internet Access, Zenmate, and a Collection of VPN “Review” Websites

Your system has been crashing a lot, too.

I would remove stuff like Malwarebytes, unarchiver and MacCleaner, ASAP.

Check all of your other apps to make sure they are current and designed to run on Mac OS 12 (Monterey).

If you upgraded to Monterey recently, some of that high CPU usage may be iCloud and TimeMachine working hard because of all the new files they have to sync or backup. But, on my system, it was Malwarebytes that crashed it after the upgrade.

You have the following installed that are likely conflicting with one another or with portions of the MacOS itself (others have already flagged several of these items):

CleanMyMac

DrCleanerProPlus

NordVPN

Antivirus One

DrCleanerPro alone appears to be using 22% of your Mac's energy and 9% of your Mac's cpu resources.

I would completely uninstall all of these, using uninstaller from the suppliers. You can always add them back one at a time if you must, checking for proper operations after each reinstall.

Also I suggest that you uninstall all your browser extensions, again, you can add them back in later.

Also for Malwarebytes, which is a good program, I suggest you remove its background checking and browser guard functions for now. Keep the Malwarebytes software, it will still scan your computer periodically, but the constant background running/checking has been reported to slow Macs down under certain circumstances.

After removing all this stuff, you can carefully add back items one at a time, testing after each, to make sure the issues have not returned with the latest install.
