Screen sharing on iPad pro and Mac Late 2013

Could I ask is there a way to enable Sidecar on the Late 2013 Mac book pro model, without being a programmer? I have read the forums but I am lost and feel this is beyond me? Should I book to visit an apple store for support? Thanks so Much!
