I can watch all episodes of Apple TV on my phone but only the first two on my tv. What can I do to watch on my tv?

I can watch all episodes of a tv series on Apple TV from the app on my phone. However, when I go to the app on my tv , I can only get the first two episodes then I get a message I can buy, rent , or subscribe. I already paid . How do I watch on my TV?

Please be aware that users will need to sign in to the Apple TV app, through the in-app Settings (sprockets wheel icon), with the Apple ID account that has the subscription.
