CD drive to read photo CD's on 2019 MacBook Pro 16" (no disc drive)

I need a CD reader for a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" (which has no disc drive), in order to read and transfer photos that are stored on a CD.

Apple support says the USB SuperDrive isn't compatible.

Online specs are unclear.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.0
