Hi, my apple ID is an old email address that I haven't used in years and no longer works. I tried to change it to my other email address, but it won't let me as I use this email address for Notifications (on my apple account). Does it matter that my apple ID is an old inaccessible email address ???
Also I am about to buy a new iPhone, but I do not know my iCloud password, how can I get it or change it ?

If you have an inaccessible email address, Apple can't contact you, you'll have trouble resetting passwords, and other potential problems. I suggest you get another email address from somewhere like AOL or Yahoo and change your Apple ID email address to a working email address.

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password on the sign in page. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.
