My husband's watch face is cracked (Series 3) so we cannot hit the reset button. At this point, we cannot even enter the code to get into watch. What are options for resetting watch before recycling?

To unpair and erase watch and remove Activation Lock
From a web browser,sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.
Go to Find iPhone.
Click All Devices at the top of the screen.
Click your Apple Watch.
Click Erase [device]. Select Next until the device is erased.
Click Remove from Account.
We need to erase contents of Watch but cannot get in due to cracked screen
