imessage photos

so recently I went back to an old friends imessage and I clicked where it would usually show all photos and I noticed that I didn’t have the option to see all the old photos and screenshots we would send each other, but this has just happened out of nowhere for no reason, I never had this problem at all. I went on my brothers phone and I saw that he has the option to see all photos and I don’t for some odd reason any help??
