M1 MacBook Air gets hot even though it’s not running anything

So I got a MacBook Air about one year ago and it worked fine for schoolwork and the occasional minecraft game. For all that time it’s temperature would stay at 32 - 34 degrees when just web browsing and idle. But now it’s always at 40+ degrees even when idle it never dips down ever! When I launch brave or safari it skyrockets to 50 degrees and keeps on rising. I recently wiped my mac to see if it would help but nothing changed. The bottom of the laptop feels like it’s on fire and it’s scaring me. The battery life is also worse. I’ve checked terminal and there are random processes that are using tons of cpu but I cannot quit them. I checked the cpu usage but it’s at like 2 percent usage. Please help!!!
