Migration wont happen

I already migrated my stuff successfully from macbook pro to an iMac M1.

But I cant do the same to the brand new mac mini ive just got. After being on the network for several hours ive installed the 'basic' iOS, but migration cant even be done when im starting it from utilities.. Even though its on the same network its just 'searching' for hours. Ive even tried to connect it with a thunderbolt cable but nothing works.

Try using an Ethernet cable between the MacBook Pro and Mac Mini,

or better yet connect the Time Machine backup from your MacBook Pro to the Mac Mini.
