I have the IPhone 11 and a 2019 Nisan Murano.
Very upsetting that such an expensive phone won’t connect to a fairly new car.
i see discussions on it going back to 2019 and 2 years later apple has done nothing.

If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure CarPlay is enabled. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car and then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
