Since the last update on Monterey, I no longer see the preview images in the Finder. The preview shows the generic .JPG and .PNG icon, whereas before I saw the preview images in thumbnails. I use this option every day in my work, it is essential to my job. How do I get the thumbnails to display again?

Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.

Someone suggested to relaunch the finder (Force Quit - highlight Finder and click on relaunch). That solves the problem for me (temporary only). I am not sure if that was an issue with the update but Apple needs to fix that for sure.

This worked. I was having the same problem, and the same panic. I have also taken this for granted and use it every single day to navigate through files with ease.
