Does anyone find the connector difficult to disconnect from MBPro

I love the new connector for the MBPro but I find it very difficult to disconnect as the magnet is very strong. I don't see how it could come off if you trip on the cord.... the entire laptop would fall on the floor

If you press on the wide, flat, side of the MagSafe 3 connector (and not by pulling on the cable), it should pop off.

If you try pulling straight out (as described above), it’ll be more difficult to disconnect.

I find the Physics of Force interesting, but unexpected..

Suppose your car slides off the road into a ditch, and all you have is a rope to try to extract it.

If you pull on the rope, nothing happens.

If you tie the rope to a tree, and stand on the rope to deflect it a few feet, the heavy car moves a few inches, because the force is multiplied.

Similarly, a deflection of the MagSafe cord to the side will apply a very large force to the connector, which in most cases will cause it release.

As MrHoffman points out, if any part of that deflecting force is up or down, the connector will release even more quickly.

I've had the MagSafe I, the MagSafe II and now the MagSafe III connectors, I have had zero problems with the actually magnetic connector no matter how it is attached or removed.

The issues I've had in the past all had to do with the actual plastic sheathing around the wires. At least now the cable and the charging brick are separate, so if anything happens to the cable, it is a less expensive replacement. But the cable is now a nylon braided cable, so it is unlikely to split open like the previous plastic sheathing.

I like this new MagSafe cable a lot.
