I recently bought an iPhone 12 and immediately noticed that the phone screen is very yellow and the display changes color at different angles. If you hold the phone straight , the screen is orange , if you tilt it in any direction , the screen becomes white , as it should be . Did I get a defective phone or is this how it should work?

Open Settings ➔ Display & Brightness: Here set True Tone to OFF. Ensure that Night Shift is also set to OFF.

Then:

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

Does completing the above two steps resolve the issue? If YES, then Turn True Tone back to ON and leave Night Shift OFF.

If it does not resolve the issue then:

Ensure that the filters setting on your iPhone is set to OFF. Open Settings ➔ Accessibility ➔ Display & Text Size ➔ Color Filters: Ensure that this is set to OFF.

If none of the above works then there may be something wrong with your iPhone. Have it examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center. You may even begin by contacting ➔ Apple Support
