Can't switch on iPhone 6s

Update via iTunes was unsuccessful. I kept the devices for some time till complete discharge and charged it. Didn't help.

If you have any clue how to revive the device I would be very grateful!

Local Apple service was unhelpful - they suggested to restore the device.

Full restore is the last variant for me, that I try to avoid since I'm not much happy of losing all the data.

The state that your phone is in there is no data on it, your proceed with the restore, you won't lose data because you can restore from your backup. You do backup right?

If you mean backup on iCloud or PC, then not sure. It's my wife's phone and there might be some of the data backed up on iCloud.

That is correct your only option is to restore your device.
