No one here is from Apple.

No one here works for Apple.

We are all just, largely, Apple product users here, just like you.

We all supply the best advice and solutons possible based on the information given to us.

If no one here can help you with your iPad issues,

I suggest/advise, you need to search online for your nearest, “local” Apple store location and call contact phone numbers and call to make an appointment to have your Apple iPad diagnosed and options presented you.

Failing that,

You need to contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.

OR

by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.

Best of Luck to You!

I followed the exact steps laid out in apple support.

Select a method

Next, select one of these transfer methods.

Quick Start: Use your iPhone or iPad to automatically set up a new device.

iCloud: Transfer your data and purchased content to your new device from your previous device's iCloud backup.

I have an iphone 7 plus, running the newest 15.2 software, as is my tablet.

No matter what I do, nothing transfers over to my tablet, except my apple i.d., and passcode.

The only message I received was “finished.”

🤷‍♀️

Well, I’ll take some guesses about what you did, because you didn’t really tell us the steps you took.

  • Your previous device is an iPhone 7 using iOS 15.2.
  • Your new device is an unknown iPad model presumably running some unknown version of iPadOS 15 (very likely less than iPadOS 15.2). (The iPad requires iPadOS 15.2 or later to proceed.)
  • You attempted Quick Start.
  • Your Apple ID and passcode transferred.
  • You saw “Finished”.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Dec 29, 2021 3:03 PM in response to sberman

I updated the ipad as soon as I got in.

So yes, it’s running 15.2.

Once again, I followed apple’s steps;

  1. Turn on your new device and place it near your current device.
  2. A screen appears on your current device that offers the option of using your Apple ID to set up your new device. Make sure that it's the Apple ID that you want to use, then tap Continue. If you don't see the option to continue on your current device, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
  3. Wait for an animation to appear on your new device. Hold your current device over the new device, then center the animation in the viewfinder.
  4. Wait for a message that says Finish on New [Device]. If you can't use your current device's camera, tap Authenticate Manually, then follow the onscreen steps.
  5. When asked, enter your current device's passcode on your new device. Then follow the instructions to set up Face ID or Touch ID on your new device.
  6. When you see the Transfer Data from [Device] screen, tap Continue to begin transferring your data from your previous device to your new device. Or you can tap Other Options to transfer apps, data, and settings from your most recent iCloud backup or transfer from a backup on your computer.
  7. Keep your devices near each other and plugged in to power until the data migration process is complete. Transfer times can vary based on factors such as network conditions and the amount of data being transferred.

Does anyone have anything relevant to add?

Something that will actually help me figure out why these steps aren’t working?

Thanks in advance!
