Hold for Authentication when printing to Windows 10 PC
Hello everyone,
New Mac user here, hardcore Windows fan since like... always... So please be patient with me ;)
Just got my M1 MacBook Air and I really start liking it. But this one thing drives me crazy, the good old (yes, I have browsed Google) "hold for authentication" when printing.
The thing is, I have connected to my PC with no issues whatsoever. I was actually surprised, how well Mac works with Windows. With my experience with Windows Home Networking - just as good, if not better. So I have access to shared folders, no issues. However, I just can't get this thing to print on a printer, hooked up to the same PC, using the same credentials... What am I doing wrong?
I am using Microsoft account to sign in to Windows, and the same credentials are used for connecting from Mac. Works fine for folder sharing, not for printing. I have checked the printer security on Windows, I am listed there, with all necessary permissions. What's more, even 'everyone' have the permission to print, so by all means this should work...?
I've spent hours trying to Google it, and all the answers I'm finding is "wrong password saved in the keychain". So I have typed the password again. And again. Username and password I am using IS correct, what else should I check?
Any suggestions are appreciated, I think I have exhausted my options here... this thing drives me nuts, as it should work... but it doesn't.
Thanks for all your input
M.
