Family Sharing Photos Limit

Apple told me that Family Sharing for photos was not limited to 5,000 photos, and that it was only limited by my iCloud+ storage amount (2TB). But it's limiting me to 5,000 photos now that I signed up. I know standard shared albums are limited to 5,000 which is why I called and specifically asked about the Family Album with the Apple One Premiere plan. Were they wrong, or is there a way to share more than 5,000 photos?

I’m not finding this to be accurate.

1) I was able to add 4,000 photos at once in less than an hour, your link says 1,000 max in an hour

2) I waited an hour since my last upload, and it won’t let me add even just one additional photo now that its at 5,000

What kind of family has less than 5,000 photos?  Despite signing up for 2TB of storage, I seem to be limited by the same limits as any other Shared Album:

Shared Album storage limits

A shared album can hold up to 5000 photos and videos. If you reach your Shared Album limit, you need to delete some photos or videos before adding new ones. The photos and videos in your Shared Albums are kept in iCloud, but they don't count against your iCloud storage limit.

Hello pwd81

Thanks for asking about sharing limits. Your iCloud Photo Library is limited by the storage allowances, but iCloud does limit the number of photos that can be uploaded to My Photo Stream or shared albums within a given hour, day, or month to prevent unintended or excessive use as mentioned here: My Photo Stream and Shared Albums limits - Apple Support

"If you exceed one of these limits, your uploads to My Photo Stream will pause temporarily, and you might see a notification on your device. Your uploads will resume automatically when you no longer exceed the limit, such as in the following hour or on the following day."

Cheers.
