Apple watch Series 3.—- Forgot passcode and can’t get to crown on watch to reset. Also when pulling up phone app it goes directly to pairing screen. Trying that it says to reset passcode as too many attempts to unlock. How do I get out of this continuous circle to reset my Series 3 GPS Apple watch?

I'm having a similar issue--I didn't forget my passcode but my watch didn't accept the password I've used since I activated in August. I have tried the watch reset and when it powers back up, I get the message "too many passcode attempts, reset and pair again" but it never resets. I have tried to erase all content from my watch app on my phone--it doesn't do this either. I'm not sure if this is due to recently upgrading my iPhone to the 13, but this is extremely frustrating to not have a solution to reset and pair watch again that works.
