If you have been syncing messages with iCloud and you delete any of those messages, they cannot be recovered. What I mean by syncing messages is that you have the switch turned on in Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Messages>On. Syncing messages with iCloud keeps all of your messages in sync on all of your devices.


If you back up messages with iCloud, you have to restore a backup that contains those messages. When you restore a backup, you overwrite the contents of your device so if your backup is two weeks old, restoring that backup overwrites all data that you created for the last two weeks.
