Do you have a serial number of your iPhone? If you do then you can perform a serial number and coverage check here ➔ Purchase data and coverage verification. Here, once you enter the serial number then the website will tell you what you have. You can also find the serial number on the original boxes of the iPhone.
The other way to find out is to log in to ➔ www.appleid.apple.com with your Apple ID and Password that is used on your iPhone. You will see your iPhone under the device list and will see the description of the iPhone.

Except, neither of those 2 places will tell you the storage capacity of the device. Just what it is.
Without turning it on, only the box will have that information as suggested by Giulio.
I guess the big question is why you don’t want to turn it on. That makes absolutely no sense. Bottom line is you can’t do what you want to do without turning the device on. So tell us why you won’t turn it on.
If you want full specifications on old devices that are not in the for-sale section of the website, you can go to "Support" and use the spyglass to search for "iphone <fillin> specs". Apple archives contain old information.

THANK YOU for correcting my recommendation. You are RIGHT. The solution that i provided only identifies the iPhone without the total capacity. I could have sworn that the capacity description was there, however, I was wrong.
