Mail crashes iPad OS 15.2

My Apple Mail App on my iPad Pro (9.7") 2016 model now crashes or comes up with a blank screen 100% of the time. It is no longer useable. This started as soon as I updated to iPad OS 15.2.

So far, I see no issues with any other apps.

I have tried a hard reboot with no effect.

The below picture is what I get when I open it. Sometimes I get two little boxes at the bottom that I have never seen before, labelled something like "New Message" and "Inbox", like in the second photo. After taking that screen shot, those immediately disappeared, and then the app crashed.

Usually, it is not at all functional. Sometimes the 'Back' button works, but then it immediately crashes.
