No you do not. As noted above, Safari is installed as part of the Mac's operating system and it can not be removed or individually installed. You may choose not to use it and install another browser such as Firefox or one of the many browsers which are available in the Apple App Store. You can then remove the Safari alias icon from your Dock by dragging it to the Trash.
