screen freeze

when I select "save as" the screen locks up...must use force quite to get out.. never had this problem before...I use this work around....select print, save as a pdf to the desktop

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

Thanks for the update.

Let's keep working on isolating this issue. Have you tried to boot into safe mode to see if you can save successfully there? How about in a test user account? Knowing how your Mac behaves at that point can be helpful.

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Which app are you using when you try to select "Save As?" Have you tried to follow these steps to see if it helps:

If an app on your Mac stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

I have had macs since the early days of Apple, (Centris) this has never happened to me before, I’ve done all the regular fix’s I ran Disc Utility first side, and it found no problems this is happening with in Safari when I try to save a web page. I have to select the print option and save as a pdf to get a work around

I am using Safari and trying to save web pages when I pay bills, NEVER had this problem before
