Mini Mac sound stopped

Is it a coincidence my sound stopped working on my Mini Mac on the first day of 2022?

What year model Mac Mini?

If it an Intel Mac Mini, reset the NVRAM.

Also restart, then check your main volume slider and the slider in Music or whatever app. you’re using.

At is point, it is impossible to say for sure what is happening, without seeing screenshots of your Sound Preferences and Audio MIDI Setup panels.


If the NVRAM reset didn't work, then try resetting the Audio MIDI setup by opening and then quitting Garage Band.
