I want to have a totally separate phones not sharing anything ! photos apps etc. when one phone is called the other phone rings as well - not what I wanted at all. So do i need to open another apple ID ? Do I need to wipe out the new iphone 12 and start over ( not a big deal) .. it's just a problem I need to fix asap. Thanks everyone.

If you want them completely separate, use two Apple IDs.

To completely clear one and start over, see: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
