Breaking a formula on a Numbers tab

I need to clean up and "reset" my spreadsheet to use for next year. Basically I need to 'break' the formula on a certain tab so I can remove any used up materials without affecting the previously calculated cost of goods made for my finished goods.

My instructions are:

  • highlight data in columns x through x
  • right click and select copy
  • without moving data selection or clicking anywhere else, right click and select "paste as" or "paste special"
  • select "values" from pop up menu. Click ok

Since "paste as" or "paste special" and "values" are not choices in Numbers, how can I accomplish this resetting of my spreadsheet?

Thank you

The same instructions, written for Numbers would be:

  • Select the cells containing the data you wish to preserve.
  • Press command-C to Copy the formulas and their results in those cells.
  • Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste Formula Results.

(There is a keystroke combination 'shortcut' that will 'Paste Formula Results', but it involves three modifier keys and the usual paste key (v).

           shift-option-command-v

You might use that if you were doing this every day, but for processes done once a year, the trip to the Edit menu is easier to remember.
