iTunes 12.10.11.2 is the last version that runs on Windows 7 & 8. iTunes 12.12.2.2 is the current version for Windows 10 & 11. The iTunes download page doesn't tell you which version it is, you can download it and read the version number once you have it. I maintain a list of installers on my user tip Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - Apple Community, or you can see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_iTunes#iTunes_12.

Backup isn't an option for iPod nano. See About the 'Trust This Computer' alert on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and this section:

Change your settings for trusted computers

Your device remembers the computers you've chosen to trust.

If you don't want to trust a computer or other device anymore, change the privacy settings on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy. Now when you connect to formerly trusted computers, the Trust alert will ask you whether you trust that computer.

You may need to reset trust settings on your iPod touches and then trust your computer so it can back them up.

turingtest let me know if I need to start another thread as I don't want to hijack this one. Anyway, I used Revo Uninstaller to remove Itunes & rebooted & then reinstalled it. But my old library is showing up & yes I renamed the Libary file before the install. Why did this happen? And during the install it popped up with a new version is available yet I have Version 12.10.11.2

I am guessing it's because it wants me to install the Windows Store version??? Confusing.

Typically uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes leaves the library in place. Without knowing exactly what you renamed it would be hard to say exactly why you see what you do, or if it is to be expected. Do you have a subscription to either Apple Music or iTunes Match? The current build of iTunes is 12.12.2.2, so 12.10.11.2 will probably report about a newer version.

So the new name of my old library was library2021.xml and library2022.xml. In the past when I uninstalled it would never load an old library and I had to set up, scan my music folder. And no I don't have any subscriptions. I was trying to fix a problem where NONE of my iPod Nano's or Touches would show the backup option. I had authorized the computer, all my music shows as does the iPods. But the backup option under devices is always greyed out. Pretty frustrating. And how & where do you tell that 12.12.2.2 is the latest vs the 12.10.11 which is on the iTunes download pages showing Dec 11 as the latest download available. Again thanks so much as you are always on the spot with answers & help.
