wont connect to internet

I am trying to pair my apple watch to my iphone and it says it needs to update and then I receive a message that I need to connect to wifi and I am already connected to wifi.

I’ve tried twice to pair my new Apple Watch with my phone. It will go through the 3 hour update and then at the end says phone can’t connect to internet… I’ve checked and it is connected. Anything else I could try?
