Apple Watch SE battery drains when not in use

I just bought my Apple Watch SE in November. My watch battery drains when it is not in use. I charge it to 100%, put it in my drawer, and sometimes not wear it for a day or two. Without fail, it is dead when I take it out of the drawer. I have background app refresh turned off and in general, only use my watch for Activity usage and Podcasts.

If the device is turned on when you put it in your drawer, the battery will run down. That's what batteries do in powered on devices. If you're not going to use your watch for a day or two, leave it on its charger. You can't overcharge a watch and it can be kept on its charger indefinitely without hurting the battery or the watch. But letting the battery deplete can be harmful to a Lion battery.
