Using OS Monterey version 12.0.1 I have certain folders and files for which 'Show Path Bar' does not work. Not sure why but when I use the use search bar to locate a folder/file and I highlight it, the 'Show Path Bar' is greyed out along with all of that folder's contents which are otherwise completely accessible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions! Nothing seemed to work but I updated to Monterey 12.1 last night and that resolved the issue. Thanks again!

It sounds like you have some concerns with the "Show Path Bar" options not always being available for certain files and folders.
Just to confirm, since you mentioned that you were searching through files, you'll want to make sure that the Finder window is active otherwise the option to "Show Path Bar" will be grayed out. Also, when searching these folders/files are you searching using Finder or Spotlight?

Thanks for taking us through that process. If you open Finder and then go to File > New Finder Window, then View > Show Path Bar, and then search for the folder, does the path bar show for your folders then?

I use the magnifying glass icon on my Finder window to search. Once that search function locates the folder, then I am clicking on that folder, highlighting it in the finder window and then trying to use the 'Show Oath Bar' feature but that feature is greyed out.
