Upgrades
My imac is an older model. I read your previous reply. The model is 8,3. Can it be upgraded? If not, what is it worth?

Thanks for the clarification.
You can upgrade to OS X El Capitan. Get it here: How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support. Make sure you have a backup first!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.
Do you mean software upgrades or hardware upgrades, such as Memory?
Also, using this Apple Support article as a guide, About System Information on your Mac - Apple Support, please let us know what year your Mac is and what version of macOS you are currently using. There is no such things as an "8,3" iMac.

I mean software upgrade. Here is the information: Mac OS X version10.6.8; iMac8,1; Intel Core 2 Duo; 2.66 GHZ; 1 processor, 2 cores; Cache 6MB; memory 8GB; 1.07GHz bus speed; 1M81.00C1.B00 boot rom version; SMC 1.29f1; serial number Zk****ZE6; hardware UUID DA58CB30-E034-57DB-BAC6-77BE337C4539.
Sorry for the confusion, don't know squat about computers, that's why I'm talking to you!
