Can you have more than 1 Apple ID

Yes. You can have as many Apple IDs as you have email addresses for them.

Do note, you cannot merge Apple IDs, nor transfer purchases from one ID to another.

So unless it's absolutely necessary to have additional Apple IDs for some reason, it should be avoided.
