Dark space gray airpods max shown as white during paring

The animation while first time paring my Dark Space Grey Airpods Max with my iPhone showing a White head phone, is that expected?

And I saw others' pairing videos are showing same color headphones in the pairing animation.

I am curious why my pairing animation is different with other's.

After the Airpods Max paired successfully, the headphone was shown as dark space grey in the "Find" app's device list.
