How do I know if it’s a message from Apple Security and not a scam?

Anyone else have similar experiences?

these pages were interrupted with a full blown screen telling me that I had been hacked and I needed to do as outlined below within three minutes.My response was to clear browser and completely turn my phone completely off.

When browsing the web, any pop-up say your phone is hacked or there is an update is fake. I recommend just ignoring the and losing the tab.
