I’m trying to download apps from my phone to my new iPad

You can't move apps between the phone and iPad.

On the iPad, go to the App Store and search for the apps that you are trying to move across. You can then download them from the App Store.

Tip:

If you have downloaded an app previously, instead of saying "GET" on the download button, it will have an image of a cloud with a down arrow indicating that you have already purchased or downloaded this app in the past.
