Windows compatibility _ Family Sharing

Can you start a family sharing plan from the apple software on windows or does it have to be an apple os

This page says that a Family Sharing has to be set up on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.


The Windows software you mention is iCloud for Windows and with it you can use iCloud Drive; Photos; Mail, Contacts & Calendars; and Passwords. I can't find it stated anywhere but you can join a Family Sharing group with your Apple ID and on this software access iCloud Drive as part of that membership. But you can't create a Family Sharing group.
