Apple TV

I have an older version of Apple TV. It appears new icons or channels cannot be downloaded. Is that a limitation of the earlier models? Can I download Disney plus?

the only models which have an app store so users can add new apps are the apple hd (4g) the apple 4k 1ed (5g) and the latest 4k 2ed (6g)

so if you have a 2g or 3g you can't get disney+

If I may add, Disney+ does say that they support AirPlay from an iOS device to Apple TV (3rd generation). That might be helpful to you in your current situation.
