Using the M1 Pro Macbook Pro 16 to Play movies in Apple TV app will cause the speakers pop when there are very low bass frequencies inside the movie.

Is my MacBook the only one that has this kind of problem?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.1

You are welcome.

I use macOS Monterey 12.1 as well. I played those two trailers in the Apple TV app and have experienced no internal speaker issues. Not sure whether it is a software issue for you because if it were related to the MacOS then I would have experienced the same. I still recommend having your MacBook Pro diagnosed at the Apple Store.

I have the M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16 in. I simulated the same setup as you mentioned in your post. Apple TV app and monitored sound at various volume levels. I did not hear any popping sound from the built-in speakers.

I recommend that you take advantage of Apple’s 1YR Limited Warranty and have your MacBook Pro examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis and a resolution.

Hi Axel, thank you very much for your answering. My MacBook Pro speakers sound good at standard resolution movie (720p or less), but the speakers start popping when the movie resolution becomes higher (1080p to 4K). I wonder have you ever experienced this kind of issue before? I use YouTube to play the same movie trailer but I don't hear any popping sound, is it possible that that is a software issue?

My system version: MacOS Montery 12.1

Apple TV version: 1.2.1.40

Test movies: Avengers Infinity War (Trailer)

Godzilla VS. Kong (Trailer)
