Using Apple MagSafe in my car...

Hi. My charge port shorted on my iPhone 13 so I am stuck with MagSafe charging. I bought an Apple MagSafe puck with USB-C. I can't use the 12V outlet in my car to plug a 12V to USB-C charger, due to location constraints, so I am trying to figure out how to get USB-C power either through my USB ports or with an aftermarket device.

I have tried a USB-A male to USB-C female connector, but the car rejects it. (2016 Ford Expedition--says device not supported--please remove.) Is there one that might work? (The product I tried: https://www.newegg.com/ecables-usb-c-female-to-usb-a-male/p/36F-00W7-00001?Item=9SIAZ5DG2A4583)

There are aftermarket devices that can be wired to the car's 12V power and flush mounted on the dash or in the console. I have experience wiring lights etc. to my cars so this would not be difficult for me. Can someone tell me if this is a viable route to go? (The product I am considering: https://www.newegg.com/p/359-01ZX-01H13)

Thanks in advance.

As was noted, the MagSafe device has a large power requirement, so that could be the source of the message you're seeing.

Maybe it wouldn't be as fast, but you might consider finding some way to mount a simple Qi charger, which shouldn't be as sensitive to power requirements. The hardest part is just getting the location right and then having it slip off, but many have large non-slip grips to reduce that. I just got a 5W Qi charger from Ikea (LIVBOJ) for my wife's iPhone. It's a little sensitive to location and only has little rubberized plus symbol in the center, but it could be supplemented with something else to increase the non-slip surface.
