How do I install SQL Server 2019 on M1 Mac 64GB 1TB SSD with Parallels and Windows 11

How do I install SQL Server 2019 on M1 Mac 64GB 1TB SSD with Parallels and Windows 11

  • ISQL Server installation fails every time
  • Parallels 17 and Windows 11 are perfectly installed
  • I understand that the above happens because SSD = 1TB

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.1

  1. The only version of Windows 11 that will run on an M1 based Mac using virtualization or otherwise is a 'technology preview' which is not available to the public or licensed for production use.
  2. If SQL server 2019 won't run on the windows 11 arm preview, you'll have to take that up with Microsoft.
  3. Bottom line, what you're trying to do isn't strictly legal... Any support, if available at all, would have to come from Microsoft.

  1. I have an application which needs to be installed on my new M1 Mac (64GB 1TB SSD with Parallels and Windows 11)
  2. Before installing the application, I need to install SQL Server 2019
  3. Parallels Ver 17 installed successfully
  4. It asked me to install Windows 11 (which I checked is the commercial release version) and this also installed successfully
  5. Everything in Windows 11 is working well (Windows Update, Printers etc)
  6. Each time I try to install SQL Server 2019 (Express of Standard), it fails
  7. I do not have the option to install my application on AWS / Google Cloud or any other cloud server
  8. Need to install the application on my M1 Mac

Please help if you can...

You can't. Windows 11 production version is not supported on a M1 Mac.

And it does not matter how many times you ask:
