How do I connect my AirPod pro to my iPhone. It has worked fine for weeks but now it won’t connect.

The AirPods do not connect to my iphone 13maxpro, nor to my iPad. Neither come up in the Bluetooth list and when the button on the AirPod charger is pressed for ~15 seconds the green light nearly turns off instead of flashing white.
